Dispell the myths
What does it feel like to be hypnotised?
Hypnosis is a naturally occuring state of mind, a bit like daydreaming.
You will go into this state unaided many times a day; lying in the bath at the end of a long day and staring, unseeing, into the plughole; being so engrosed in a good book you barely notice someone walking into the room.
Despite what people might tell you, being in a hypnotic 'trance' does not mean that someone can make you behave like a chicken (unless you want to!).
Nobody can hypnotise you against your will or make you do anything you don't want to do.
You will be completely aware of your surroundings and can move, open your eyes or speak if you wish to. Although you may feel so beautifuly relaxed that you might not want to!
What is Hypnotherapy?
During hypnosis your subconscious mind is open to positive suggestions and changes.
The subconscious is the part of the mind that holds all of the things we have learned to do without thinking, like driving a car or eating with a knife and fork.
I believe we are all a product of our upbringing and along the way we learn how to react and behave from those around us.
Not all the things we learn about the world are useful to us and can result in unhelpful feelings or behaviours that hold us back in adulthood.
With hypnosis we can bring about positive change to these behaviours and help you to be the person you were meant to be.
